Shravan Somvar Vrat Katha:श्रावण का पवित्र महीना शुरू हो गया है और आज हम श्रावण सोमवार की व्रत कथा लेकर आपके सामने प्रस्तुत हुए है, तो चलिए साथ में इस पुण्यदायिनी कथा का श्रवण करते हैं। The holy month of Shravan has begun and today we have come to you with the fasting story of Shravan Monday, so let us listen to this holy story together.
पौराणिक कथाओं के अनुसार, एक नगर में अमीर साहूकार निवास करता था। उसके घर में धन-धान्य की कोई कमी नहीं थी, परंतु संतान न होने के कारण वह अत्यंत दुखी रहता था। संतान प्राप्ति के लिए वह हर सोमवार श्रद्धापूर्वक भगवान शिव जी की उपासना करता था और संध्या के समय मंदिर में जाकर भगवान शिव के समक्ष दीप जलाता था। According to mythology, a rich money lender lived in a city. There was no dearth of wealth in his house, but he was very unhappy due to not having a child. To get a child, he used to worship Lord Shiva with devotion every Monday and in the evening he used to go to the temple and light a lamp in front of Lord Shiva.
उसके भक्ति भाव को देखते हुए, एक दिन माता पार्वती ने भगवान शिव से कहा कि हे प्राणनाथ! यह आपका सच्चा भक्त है तथा इतने वर्षों से आपकी पूजा-अर्चना कर रहा है। आप इसे संतान प्राप्ति आशीर्वाद क्यों नहीं देते? Seeing his devotion, one day Mother Parvati said to Lord Shiva, “O Prannath! He is your true devotee and has been worshipping you for so many years. Why don’t you bless him with a child?”
माता पार्वती का प्रश्न सुनकर भगवान शिव ने उन्हें बताया कि साहूकार के पिछले जन्म के कर्मों के कारण उसके भाग्य में संतान सुख नहीं लिखा है। Hearing the question of Mother Parvati, Lord Shiva told her that due to the deeds of the moneylender’s previous life, the happiness of children was not written in his fate.
यह सुनकर माता पार्वती ने भगवान शिव से आग्रह किया कि वे उस साहूकार को संतान प्राप्ति का वर प्रदान करें। माता पार्वती के आग्रह के बाद भगवान भोलेनाथ ने ये बात मान ली और स्वप्न में उस साहूकार को दर्शन देकर संतान प्राप्ति का वरदान दिया। इसके साथ ही भगवान ने उन्हें यह भी बताया कि उसका पुत्र अल्पायु होगा और वह केवल 16 वर्ष तक ही जीवित रहेगा। Hearing this, Goddess Parvati requested Lord Shiva to bless the moneylender with a child. After the request of Goddess Parvati, Lord Shiva accepted this and appeared in the dream of the moneylender and blessed him with a child. Along with this, the Lord also told him that his son will have a short life and he will live only for 16 years.
साहूकार को इस बात की हार्दिक प्रसन्नता तो हुई, लेकिन वह संतान को कुछ समय बाद खोने के विचार से चिंतित हो गया। उसने पूरा वृतांत अपनी पत्नी को सुनाया। पुत्र की अल्पायु के बारे में सुनकर उसकी पत्नी भी अत्यंत दुखी हो गई। The moneylender was very happy about this, but he became worried about losing his son after some time. He narrated the whole incident to his wife. His wife also became very sad after hearing about the short life of her son.
यह बात जानकर भी साहूकार ने अपने आराध्य की पूजा अर्चना जारी रखी। कुछ समय पश्चात उसकी पत्नी गर्भवती हो गई और उसने एक सुंदर बालक को जन्म दिया। उन्होंने उस बालक का नाम अमर रखा। जब अमर 11 वर्ष का हुआ तो साहूकार ने उसे अपने मामा के साथ शिक्षा ग्रहण करने के लिए काशी भेज दिया। काशी जाने से पहले, साहूकार ने बालक के मामा को कुछ धन दिया और कहा कि तुम जिस भी मार्ग से जाना वहां यज्ञ और ब्राह्मणों को भोजन अवश्य कराना। Even after knowing this, the moneylender continued to worship his idol. After some time, his wife became pregnant and gave birth to a beautiful child. They named the child Amar. When Amar was 11 years old, the moneylender sent him to Kashi with his maternal uncle to receive education. Before leaving for Kashi, the moneylender gave some money to the child’s maternal uncle and told him to perform a yagya and feed the Brahmins on whatever route he went.
इसके बाद दोनों मामा-भांजे काशी की ओर निकल पड़े। यात्रा करते हुए बालक और उसके मामा एक राज्य में विश्राम के लिए रुके। वहां पर राजा की पुत्री का विवाह हो रहा था। परंतु जिस राजकुमार का विवाह उस राजकुमारी से हो रहा था वह एक आंख से काना था और यह बात किसी को पता नहीं थी। After this, both uncle and nephew set out towards Kashi. While travelling, the boy and his uncle stopped in a kingdom to rest. The king’s daughter was getting married there. But the prince who was getting married to that princess was blind in one eye and no one knew about this.
राजकुमार के पिता को इस बात की चिंता थी कि अगर राजकुमारी को यह पता चल गया कि राजकुमार एक आंख से काना है तो वह शादी से मना कर देगी। इसलिए जब उसने साहूकार के पुत्र को देखा तो राजकुमार के पिता ने उससे राजकुमार की जगह मंडप में बैठ जाने का आग्रह किया। साथ ही उसने उस बालक से कहा कि वह विवाह के बाद इस भेद के बारे में किसी को न बताएं। The prince’s father was worried that if the princess came to know that the prince was blind in one eye, she would refuse to marry him. So when she saw the moneylender’s son, the prince’s father requested him to sit in the mandap in place of the prince. He also told the boy not to tell anyone about this secret after the marriage.
अमर, उस राजा की बात मानकर दूल्हे के स्थान पर जाकर मंडप में बैठ गया। इस प्रकार राजकुमारी और बालक का विवाह संपन्न हुआ। विवाह के बाद बालक अपने मामा के साथ काशी के लिए प्रस्थान कर गया। काशी जाने से पहले उस बालक ने राजकुमारी को पत्र के माध्यम से सब सच बता दिया, साथ ही यह भी बताया कि जिस राजकुमार से उसकी विदाई हो रही है वह दरअसल काना है। Amar, following the king’s advice, went to the groom’s place and sat in the mandap. Thus the marriage of the princess and the boy was completed. After the marriage, the boy left for Kashi with his maternal uncle. Before leaving for Kashi, the boy told the princess the truth through a letter and also told her that the prince with whom she was being married was actually one-eyed.
सत्य जानकार, राजकुमारी ने उस राजकुमार के साथ जाने से मना कर दिया। वहीं दूसरी ओर मामा-भांजे काशी पहुंच गए। वहां कुछ वर्ष रहने के पश्चात् जब वह बालक 16 वर्ष का हुआ तो मामा-भांजे ने एक यज्ञ का आयोजन किया। यज्ञ के समापन के बाद उन्होंने ब्राह्मणों को भोजन भी कराया और दान-दक्षिणा भी दी। इसके पश्चात बालक की तबीयत खराब होने लगी। वह मूर्छित होकर जमीन पर गिर गया और उसकी मृत्यु हो गई। Knowing the truth, the princess refused to go with the prince. On the other hand, the uncle and nephew reached Kashi. After living there for a few years, when the boy turned 16, the uncle and nephew organized a yagya. After the completion of the yagya, they fed the Brahmins and also gave donations. After this, the boy’s health started deteriorating. He fell unconscious on the ground and died.
जब उस बालक के मामा ने बालक को इस अवस्था में पाया तो वह ज़ोर-ज़ोर से विलाप करने लगे, उसी समय भगवान शिव और माता पार्वती उस मार्ग से गुजर रहे थे, जब उन्होंने विलाप की आवाज सुनी तो माता पार्वती ने भगवान शिव से आग्रह किया कि वो उस रोते हुए व्यक्ति का कष्ट दूर करें। When the boy’s maternal uncle found him in this condition, he started wailing loudly. At the same time, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati were passing by. When they heard the wailing sound, Goddess Parvati requested Lord Shiva to relieve the pain of the crying person.
तब भगवान शिव ने देवी पार्वती को बताया कि यह वही साहूकार का पुत्र है, जिसे उन्होंने 16 वर्ष तक जीवित रहने का वरदान दिया था। तब माता पार्वती ने कहा कि- हे प्राणनाथ, इस बालक का पिता पिछले 16 वर्षों से सोमवार का व्रत करते हुए आपके समक्ष दीप जलाता है। कृपया आप इसके दुखों को दूर करें। Then Lord Shiva told Goddess Parvati that this is the same moneylender’s son to whom he had given the boon of living for 16 years. Then Mother Parvati said- O Prannath, the father of this child has been observing fast on Mondays for the last 16 years and lighting a lamp in front of you. Please remove his sorrows.
माता पार्वती के वचन सुनकर भगवान शिव ने अमर को जीवन का वरदान दिया और इसके पश्चात् वह बालक जीवित हो गया। यह देखकर उसके मामा की प्रसन्नता का कोई ठिकाना नहीं रहा। इसके बाद काशी से पढ़ाई पूरी करने के बाद, वह दोनों वापस घर की ओर निकल पड़े। रास्ते में फिर से वह नगर पड़ा जहां अमर का विवाह वहां की राजकुमारी से हुआ था। जब राजकुमारी ने अमर को देखा तो वह उसे तुरंत पहचान गई। राजा ने भी प्रसन्नतापूर्वक अपनी पुत्री को अमर के साथ विदा कर दिया। Hearing the words of Mother Parvati, Lord Shiva gave the boon of life to Amar and after this the child became alive. Seeing this, his uncle’s happiness knew no bounds. After this, after completing their studies from Kashi, both of them started back home. On the way, they again came across the city where Amar was married to the princess of that place. When the princess saw Amar, she immediately recognized him. The king also happily sent off his daughter with Amar.
वहीं दूसरी ओर साहूकार और उसकी पत्नी यह सोचकर अत्यंत दुखी थे कि 16 वर्ष की आयु के बाद उनके पुत्र की मृत्यु हो जाएगी। लेकिन जब उन्होंने देखा कि उनका पुत्र अपनी वधु के साथ सुरक्षित घर वापस लौट आया है तो उनके सारे कष्ट दूर हो गए और उन्होंने प्रफुल्लित मन से उन दोनों का स्वागत किया। On the other hand, the moneylender and his wife were very sad thinking that their son would die after the age of 16. But when they saw that their son had returned home safely with his bride, all their sorrows vanished and they welcomed both of them with a joyful heart.
इस प्रकार भगवान शिव की निरंतर आराधना से साहूकार को न केवल पुत्र प्राप्ति हुई बल्कि उसके पुत्र को जीवनदान भी मिला। इस कथा का श्रवण करने से सभी मनुष्य पुण्य के भागीदार बनते हैं। In this way, by constantly praying to Lord Shiva, the money lender not only got a son but his son also got life. By listening to this story, all human beings become partners in virtue.
